At Waverly Care, we place a strong emphasis on providing comprehensive training and educational opportunities for our caregivers as well as for those in the broader community. Through our Waverly Care Academy, we offer a diverse range of continuing education classes. These cover essential topics such as chronic disease management, cardiac disease, Parkinson’s, pulmonary diseases, fall prevention, and more.

Waverly Care Academy Class Descriptions

Choose from the following classes offered by Waverly Care Academy. Participants receive certificates of completion when they demonstrate proficiency in each course. 

  • Chronic Disease Management – congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), diabetes.
  • Cardiac Disease Management – CHF, heart attacks.
  • Pulmonary Disease Management – COPD.
  • Parkinson’s & Strokes – signs, symptoms, and complications.
  • Fall Prevention & Safety Assessment – risk factors, prevention, safety issues.
  • Dehydration & Malnutrition – prevention, side effects, monitor symptoms.
  • Skin Integrity Management – wound prevention techniques.
  • Incontinence & Urinary Tract Infection – causes, prevention, complications.
